Youth from St. Christopher Parish participated in 'Make A Difference' day by helping the Caro Garden Club gardeners with fall clean up in the Botanical Garden and the Noble Boulder Garden. Together we cleaned up some gardens and trimmed back some plants. Their help made a tremendous impact on getting the garden ready for winter.
After the event, two students shared their impression of the day:
'Today taught us how important it is to give back to our community. We really did feel an important part of society by contributing our time. We as a family have been by the gardens on several occasions on our daily commutes. However, we have never paused to see the beauty or realizing how much time goes in to maintaining that beauty.'
'Each and every person can make a difference. We were able to work along side our friends but also new ones we were lucky to meet. We are feeling blessed by such an awesome day and experience.'
Our garden club members appreciated the time spent helping us with the gardens and the friendships we made with the St. Christopher Youth Group. You definitely make a difference every day and are encouraged that you feel a part of the community gardens. Thank you!!
