Greetings Fellow Gardeners,
October has arrived and with that comes the fall season. There are so many places to see and things do. The fall color, warm days and cool nights bring a warmth to our hearts that no other season can produce. We busy ourselves with last minute garden chores before the onset of colder temperatures. Our homes are filled with smells of hot cider, cinnamon doughnuts, spiced apple pie, and caramel corn. We deck our halls with fun décor for trick-or-treaters who come knocking at our doors. What’s not to love about the month of October!
Our Fall District VI Meeting will be held at the Genesys Conference Center, Grand Blanc, Michigan from 9:00-3:00 p.m. October 2, 2019. Diana and Lu Ann will be driving so please get in touch with them to carpool.
The Tuscola County Pumpkin Festival Parade will kick off at 1:30 p.m. Line up starts at 10:00 a.m. Due to lack of parking, please find a way to be dropped off. Wear a good pair of walking shoes, and dress appropriately for the weather. Bring your decorated wagon/ wheelbarrow and dress in costume if you’d like. Those members who are unable to walk can ride in the back end of the pickup. There will be bails of straw for sitting on. We will be pulling a 4” X 6” wagon filled with cornstalk, straw and mums, compliments of Szcygiel’s Plant Farm. We also have a banner that states, “Caro Garden Club, Happy Birthday, 90 Incredible Years.” We need two members to carry the banner.
Chemical Bank “MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY” will be helping with fall clean-up on October 14, 2019, from 9:00-2:00. Please plan to be at your assigned garden dressed for weather and gardening tools.
As President, I will be participating in the Caro Chamber of Commerce Business Expo October 23, 2019 from 1:00-5:00 at the Tuscola County Technology Center, 1401 Cleaver Rd. Caro, MI.
