New Memorial Bricks

Club member and Vietnam vet Peter Diller continues to develop our Blue Star Memorial. The newest engraved bricks have been installed in the area by the Vietnam vets' Memorial. Lighting has been installed so that you can visit and pay your respects even after dark, when it is especially peaceful.

We have one new brick of particular interest. From Peter... "The John McCain Institute and Cindy McCain approved and paid for a extra large engraved brick paying tribute to the late, great John McCain. Senator McCain was a Vietnam POW for nearly 6 years and served his country until he passed at the age of 80: a genuine American hero!"

"His brick has been installed (over a bed of cement to deter theft) and photographs have been taken and sent the John McCain Institute - who plans on promulgating them internationally via a newsletter they regularly send out - and the Advertiser." It is an immense privilege to have this great patriot and servant to the people of the US commemorated in our garden.

Many thanks to all of you who have shared a part of your own or your family's military history by purchasing these bricks. Thank you for serving our nation. We hope that the Blue Star Memorial is a place you visit often, and that you find peace there.
