Place your orders by April 24th with any Garden Club member or mail to PO box below for hanging baskets, available in time for Mother's Day, and a selection of annuals and perennials in pots and flats for pickup later in May.
Spring is coming and it is time to start planning!!!
Annually, the Caro Garden Club holds a spring plant sale with proceeds used by the garden club to fund maintenance and improvements for the clubs's community gardens.
Hanging basket offerings will include a variety of petunia, begonia, fuchsia, and geraniums. Flats offered will include begonia, petunia, snapdragon, dusty miller, salvia, zinnia, dianthus, alyssum, marigold, and coleus.
For those gardeners who want to create their own combo pots, we will offer a variety of smaller pots, including geraniums, Calibrachoa (mini petunia), Osteospermum (daisy-like), Verbena, and some additional container potted plants, including sweet potato vine, white licorice, and spikes. We are doubling our perennial offerings, planning on ten varieties this year.
Hanging baskets will be available for pick-up on Friday, May 10th in time for Mother's Day. Flats and pots will be available on Tuesday, May 21st. Pick-up locations for both dates will be at the Community Building at the Tuscola County Fairground.
New Offerings
We offer a few different plants every year. Plan on doing a bit of shopping at pick-up as we will have some 'buy-on-the-spot' plants. This year's new offerings include black-eyed Susan vine, Empress Wu hosta, orange sunshine lantana and tropical mix moss rose. Also new, to help with your decision making, this year's order form will include icons for sun/shade requirements and icons indicating pollinator plants.
The 2019 Order Forms can be found here and other places on our website. Fill in your order and mail it to the Garden Club post office box (PO Box 531, Caro, MI, 48723) or hand it to any Garden Club member by May 24th.
