The Caro Garden Club is happy to announce the winners of this Year’s Youth Sculpture Contest. We had many creative sculptures, creating a very hard job for the judges. Besides the creativity of the individual sculptures, how the child describes their creation in thinking about the environment is always important in the judging process.
4th Grade 1st Place was Ian Burns with his ‘Robot Animal Dog.’
5th Grade 1st Place was Noah Shields with his ‘Aquarium.’
6th Grade 1st Place was Jaylah Fisher with her ‘Butterfly.’
These winners also placed first in District 6 and 1st in the State of Michigan. Their sculptures have been sent to Central Region making up 7 states for further judging. Fingers crossed that they move on to National.
There were no entries this year for 7th or 8th grade this year. Each winner received $25 from the Caro Garden Club and a $75 Gift Card to Walmart from the combined 1st places in the District and State.
The next Youth Sculpture Workshop will be held at The Caro Area District Library on Saturday September 23rd from 10-12 for the 2023-2024 Contest. The contest is open to 4th-8th graders, but younger siblings are welcome as well to make a sculpture for fun.
